Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in him,

and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

and with my song I praise Him

Today while out photographing animals on the lake, right before sunset during that golden hour, I was thinking about everything that is going on in the world. How can life be so hard and complicated today when one simple prayer in asking Christ into your life can change it all. In thinking about it all, as I was enjoying my time in nature, the words began to come to me for a new poem.

My Strength and My Shield

There is so much more to what is going on in the world sometimes it is hard to actually believe,

Lying, stealing, cheating, murdering; aren't these actions to heavy for those committing them to carry on their sleeve.

And, yet, we live on a planet in world searching, confused, and torn,

One man's amazing grace, who walked this earth and has gone to prepare a heavenly place, can save us all, if are willing to be reborn.

A world full of leaders unable to lead, stand their ground, and fight for what they want to believe with a big show,

Going with the status quo and often fighting for things which they do not know.

The fight often won on this earth is for evil,

And it leaves the world in nothing better but constant upheaval.

And, yet, we live on a planet in world searching, confused, and torn,

One man's amazing grace, who walked this earth and has gone to prepare a heavenly place, can save us all, if are willing to be reborn.

Isn't it amazing that many Christians can see,

What the world is becoming politically.

Nothing more than leaders floundering and often just beating their chest,

Can't they just give it a rest?

The answer lies right in front of them from Thee,

But they pay no attention as they go about their day unhappy and discontent

with no time for Him who has our lives planned out if we would just let it be,

And, yet, we live on a planet in world searching, confused, and torn,

One man's amazing grace, who walked this earth and has gone to prepare a heavenly place, can save us all, if are willing to be reborn.

I awake each morning just happy to be,

Trying not to focus on the world's problems first with everyone drowning in a political sea.

I give thanks first to my Heavenly Father for all that He has given me;

Something I learned from my mother, always watching her pray to Thee.

Isn't it this simple for others and our leaders to do, give thanks, praise, read the Bible and follow?

Or are they so consumed in evil and His holy word is too much to swallow?

I thank him and praise Him as I go about my day, traveling from here or there,

For talking to him isn't just about mornings or evenings in a memorized prayer,

Our Heavenly Father seeks a relationship with all,

And does not want to see us in the Lake of Fire consumed by our fall,

He is my strength and my shield,

Fighting my battles with a sword in which He wields.

He walks with me and talks with me and guides me through my day,

Taking my worries and fears and bearing my burdens all His way.

Whenever you start to feel afraid, worried and blue, remember Satan came to lie, steal and destroy you,

Jesus can be your shield too and help you thru.

He watches over you continuously, protecting you from all dangers, helping you throughout your day,

Protecting you in every way.

Do not let the world's problems get you down,

For we know the outcome is already written and is leather bound.

Instead spend your days, thanking and praising, and looking for His face,

In the beauty he prepared here and sharing with others His grace.

And, yes, we live on a planet in a world searching, confused, and torn,

But in accepting Christ's amazing grace we are reborn.

In doing so, one day we will join him in that glorious heavenly place.

Until the next blog; God bless!!
